Lump on at 500/1
The 2014-15 season is over and some guys sit down in Leiciester and discuss their options. The season has been dire flirting with relegation most of it and conceding 3 or more to Manu Chelsea Spurs etc often. 14th place finish 41 points. Jamie Vardy scored 5 Ulloa top scorer in the league with 11. Their last two managers have been the flamboyant European Sven Goren Eriksson and the dour British Nigel Pearson. Lets up our game they decide and bring in Ranieri who had all but won the title with Chelsea the year they got to the champions league semi finals and were denied the title only by the Gooners Invincibles.

A man who brought John Terry, William Gallas, Wayne Bridge, Claude Makélélé and Frank Lampard to Chelsea or nurtured them. During his final months at Chelsea, Ranieri also identified Didier Drogba and Arjen Robben as players Chelsea should sign, both of whom went on to become key players at the club.

During the summer he brings in a few key signings (12) including loanees spending in or around 40,000,000 including Ngolo Kante for 6m from Caen, but does a massive clearance of 22 players released sent out on loan or sold. The rest is history , while the big 4 scoop up domestic cups and play European mid week matches, Leicester City win the thing.

Fast forward to 2018 and picture a porn cluttered office, the similarities with Leicester comparing our last season and their 14-15 effort are obvious a blind man could see them but We have gone a step better ,brought in someone who has actually won the title. Can Carroll and Hernandez do a Vardy / Rihyaz and get 41 goals between them, no European football to distract us from our title charge, maybe we even have a scout over in Caen? Can lightning strike twice? 500/1 e/w (just in case someone does an invincibles and pips us at the post)

I'll get my coat.

Northern me old mucker I forgot to mention in my opening paragraph that Mr Ranieri was indeed 63 when like Pelle plucked from relative obscurity in Greece instead of China where they had both been cast into the footballing wilderness so to speak, the ongoing comparisons are astounding.

*Continues dodging incoming flak and avoiding white-coated types*

Re: Lump on at 500/1
I can see this happening however there are one or two things that would have to fall into place first.

1. Pep gets poached by China and Man City appoint BFS.

2. Man Utd decide to swap squads with Salford City to help out the class of 92.

3. Chelsea capitulate when Roman goes home as he doesn't have his visa renewed.

4. Uni Emery turns out to be Dick Emery.

5. The Scum get 50 point deduction as their new stadium isn't ready and they have to play all the home games at Wembley and then their new ground breaching PL rules.

6. Liverpool have to play on in the CL final for a golden goal winner and it is not scored until the 393,240th minute meaning they don't play their first PL game until March 2019.

7. The other 13 clubs have a mediocre season.

8. WHU actually buy a DM.

9. Carroll stays fit.

I know the last one is a long shot but we can at least dream can't we?

Re: Lump on at 500/1
Its possible Len , BUT next year is the year they could be caught trousers down as Pep HAS to win the Champions league next year or he will be looking for a new club.
